is eximia made created designed suitable for me ?

Our Tutoring Services are made for you

When we were designing Eximia’s tutoring services, we would always get asked “Who are you going to cater for?” and to us, this seemed like a pretty silly question. We thought:

“Why only cater for one group of people?”

So, we decided to design educational services for every group we could think of because we know that tutoring is for everyone.

Which student are You ?

A ‘struggling’ student generally understands little of what is regularly taught in class, and feels close to or has already given up on understanding what is being taught by the teacher. As a result, a ‘struggling’ student will be told they have ‘bad behaviour’ and parents may regularly hear of how their child has been misbehaving or disengaged at school….. CONTINUE READING

A ‘gifted’ student can understand almost everything taught in class with little-to-no effort. However, like the ‘struggling’ student, the teacher may often reprimand the gifted student for bad behaviour and misdiagnose their lack of interest in the boring subject matter for a ‘bad attitude’ where it is evident that the ‘gifted’ student is not actually being challenged intellectually or in their cognitive processing in a meaningful way….. CONTINUE READING

A student with learning challenges is a student, diagnosed or undiagnosed, operating with visual, auditory or cognitive disorders such as ASD, dyslexia, dyscalcula, ADD or the many other disorders that fall under this list. Usually, the student with learning challenges struggles with the extra effort required to understand what is being taught from the teacher to the class and requires individual 1-to-1 aid to stay up to date with the rest of the class. This is commonly, but not always provided by a second support teacher in regular classes….. CONTINUE READING

An ‘accelerated’ student is not necessarily a gifted student, although in accelerated classes, we do see a higher percentage of gifted students. An accelerated student is almost always a conscientious student, with an effective study routine and a generally sound understanding of how to work at school. This usually comes from having had years of tutoring within 1-to-1 and/or class environments….. CONTINUE READING

The average student is the student who does not experience any noticeable learning impariments or difficulties, but is content to sit in class, listen to what is going on, understand what is being taught and does little-to-no work or study at home. This student will usually score between the c and b range regularly and is happy with their achievements. Often the average student will complete a TVET course while at school, but still go on to finish their HSC..… CONTINUE READING

The good student is the student like the average student, who listens attentively in class, understands what is going on and what is being taught, but unlike the average student, will attempt to study in an effective way (even though often they cannot seem to find enough time to study for absolutely everything they want), tries really hard, but can’t seem to score higher than mid 80s in their assessments, no matter how ‘hard’ they try.…. CONTINUE READING

The perfect student is the student that sits in class, does not interrupt the learning of other students, listens attentively, answers the teacher’s questions, finishes homework, study, revision, assessments and extra tasks on time and achieves full marks all the time. This student often teaches other students and helps teachers to monitor the behaviour of the class. The perfect student juggles sport, music, school work and extra curricular projects perfectly and still has time to go out and enjoy time with friends..… CONTINUE READING

We Have Great Answers

Ask us Anything

If you can make it to a premise then we’ll always say yes! After all, they’re literally purpose built for learning and it’s the most controlled environment we can offer you. Online and in-home Tutoring is great too! But there are some intangibles like a person’s presence and a learning environment that they respectively can’t replicate.

Are you a human being?!?!? If so, then yes! Check out our ‘ABOUT’ page to see why.

Of course! We know that most students struggle with time-management as it’s something you only improve with age and experience but we help by smoothing out the learning curve and showing them how to make and keep to a study plan.

Yes! When you have large amounts of hours you’ll spend with us or for families. If you let us know that a) you have a large number of hours you’re looking at doing or b) you have multiple students you’re enrolling then we certainly do our best to make it affordable!

Usually we see an improvement of 8-12% in the first term (10 weeks) of tutoring because there’s tips and tricks the school doesn’t teach you about assessments and exams! Following this, we focus on ensuring conscientious work from the student which usually results in improvement of 2-5% a term. But as always, actual time to improve will vary.

Then there’s great news! It’s not because you struggle with the content of all the subjects, it’s because you haven’t been taught a way to study properly and keep track of content. Plus, chances are, a lot of your issues started in English (specifically comprehension and understanding questions) and it’s filtered through into your other learning; so that’s where we suggest to start work.

Absolutely! We tailor our services to all our students, and have a special interest in ensuring that students with learning challenges don’t fall behind at school and learn to be just as independent as students without the challenges they face.

Contact us by filling out the form below or speak to us on the chat function on the site! We’ll organise a day and a time for a trial lesson with you, send you our proposed plan and when you’re happy, we can get started with your private education!

We have a cancellation window of 5 days for planned and scheduled events, otherwise we have to debit the lesson because our tutors allocate time each week to work and we can’t cancel late on them! For unforeseen circumstances and illness, we organise a make-up lesson between yourself and the tutor at some point within the 10-week Term.

No! There are literally no ts&cs for the Trial Lesson. It’s completely free because we know you’ll see value in our services later!

All of our payments go through GoCardless (a Direct-debit provider). We send you an invoice once every 10 weeks and payment occurs through GoCardless and that’s it!

All of the Tutors that work for us are great tutors because we picked them for their enthusiasm and interest in the subject-area they teach. On top of this, we d our best to match you to a compatible Tutor with a similar learning style. Plus, all our tutors go through a training program with us on how to teach and tutor, no matter their experience.

We have close to a 100% success rate in improving student’s results at school. If we did all the maths, it’d work out to be 99.88% of Students (or something like that) so you can be assured that you’ll improve too.

We ALWAYS suggest starting with 1-to-1 because there are so many little problems we can fix and tips and tricks for super quick initial improvement we can give you. From this, once we’re confident you can take on the responsibility to learn more independently we move you to the class to be challenged.

We use impressive hardware like IPads, Monitors and TVs for both 1-to-1 and Class Tuition. We also use Learning Management Software to store and record all lesson content and send homework (whilst keeping parents and guardians in the loop too).

Absolutely! Give us a message and we’ll let you know the list of programs (we know about) that we recommend for learning.

Visit the rest of our website and check out our blog! And if that’s not enough, come in for a trial lesson or just send us an email. We’re happy to talk!

If you cancel your enrolment :(((
Then we’ll be sad to see you go! So long as you’ve given a cancellation notice for the lesson upcoming, we’ll refund you the entire remainder of the 10-week program you’re in.

we love seeing our students improve and smash learning goals
